In 2011, the St’át’imc Nation signed a 100 year settlement agreement with the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro), and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of British Columbia in regards to BC Hydro’s impacts to the St’át’imc Territory. Many St’át’imc leaders were part of the negotiation process which took approximately 20 years to complete. The St’át’imc (PC) 2011 Trust and the St’át’imc Authority (Chiefs) felt it was essential that we capture the purpose and intent of the Agreement and the Trust created by the Agreement, from those leaders who participated in the negotiations and are the reason we reached a final settlement.
